TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL
Luke 9:22-27
TODAY'S RHEMA Luke 9:25 "what good is it for someone to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit their very self?"
Many of us must be familiar with the parable of the lost son. It tells us about the story of a son who demanded his inheritance from his father. After he received the share he left home and spent all of his money and wealth. In the beginning, life seemed very amusing for him. Life for him was about partying with many friends beside him, and spending money he's got. However, those kinds of pleasure were just temporary. When he ran out of money, his friends left him. When he was broke and penniless, he ended up working in a field to feed pigs. As severe famine came, he remembered his father's servants lived better life in his father's place.
Some of us may have experienced similar thing. The evil would tempt us with worldly temptation and if we step out of God's control and fall into his trap, we would live without God's protection, trapped in his lies. Choices are in our hands because God grant us free will. God gives us freedom to choose life we want to live. But, remember, what we choose will determine what we have in heaven. When we walk away from God, perhaps everything seems to be okay in the beginning. However, in the end, we will lose our blessings, happiness, and dignity. Proverbs 14:12 tells us "there is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death."
However hard your circumstances might be right now, never walk away from God! You may think that living without God will be a better option and more beneficial for your life, but that is not true. Keep holding on, keep being faithful, and keep being obedient. Remember that those who are trusted with very little can be trusted with much. God's blessing must be more than what the world can offer. If you choose to live without God, you will not have an eternal life with God in heaven. Therefore, you must realize that it is important to prepare for eternal life and be the part of God's kingdom.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, All things that come from anything but God would eventually drag us away from eternity with God in heaven.
