TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL Proverbs 16:1-25
TODAY'S RHEMA Proverbs 16:25 "There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death."
Dr. A.B. Simpson, a preacher who resided in New York, had a bad health condition. His nerve systems and his heart were not in good shape. When he was 38 years old, a famous specialist doctor in New York told him that he would not reach 40. He could have simply agreed to that diagnosis, as he had so much difficulty in preaching. He was unable to climb up a steep path without having difficulty in breathing.
In that tough condition, Simpson opened his Bible and looked for the desire of God for his life. The result of his devotion was a bold faith that Jesus would heal him. On a particular day, not long after Simpson reached that conclusion, he went for a walk in a pine forest and sat on a tree to rest there and prayed. Then he said, "Every nerve within me shook as the presence of God comes to my life."
Days later, Simpson climbed a high mountain (its height is 1800m). Then he said, "This is a proof of what God had promised me, and I knew it would happen." He was able to deliver 3000 sermons during the next three years. He was serving as many as 20 services a week and was writing many remarkable pieces of works before he died at 76 years old.
When Simpson drew closer to God, sat in His presence, and took time to think about God's word, his spiritual eyes could see what the plan of God is. He was able to know something that he did not know before. He just needed to step forward with a bold faith acknowledging that his disease was already healed by God, and soon he saw that everything was accomplished in God's grand design.
No matter how hard and how though our conditions are right now, keep believing that God's design for our lives is good, and even the best one. Study His word, devote your time to think deeply about them day and night, and we will know something that we previously did not know. We can act in faith, and we will experience His grace to come down in our life. Amen.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, when we study the word of God, our SPIRITUAL EYES shall open, and we will KNOW WHAT WE PREVIOUSLY DID NOT.
