TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL
Isaiah 58:6-12
TODAY'S RHEMA Isaiah 58:10 "and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry, and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday."
A poor farmer who lived in Scotland was sad because his son could not be a doctor. One day, when he was in the field, he heard someone asking for a help. Soon, he ran and saw a kid was drowning in the mud. He immediately pulled that little boy out of it. The next day, a noble who turned out to be the little boy's father came to his house. He offered fees and financial support for his son college tuition. Years later, the noble's family contracted the deadliest disease reached in Scotland. However, the noble's family illness are cured by a serum found by a young scientist. The noble's family decided to meet the young scientist and they were surprised because a guy behind the serum which saved many people's life was the son of the good farmer.
Sometimes when we are in troubles, we tend to be so busy and focus on our own problems. However, that is not what God wants from us. He wants us to open our eyes and see that there are many other people who are less fortunate than we are and who need our support and prayer as well. The story about the poor farmer above reminds us that helping others could be a way for God to answer our prayer. It reveals that when we help others, we will shine in the darkness. God will use us to create and do great things for the glory of God.
