TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL
1 John 4:7-21
TODAY'S RHEMA 1 John 4:19 "We love because he first loved us."
Education always becomes an issue in the remote areas, especially in the Eastern region of Indonesia. Although the government of Indonesia has already given subsidy in form of proper school building in number of places, but some areas are geographically difficult for the student to commute daily to and fro school. Not only that the availability and willingness of the teachers often become inhibiting factor as well. It is such a sad fact because who knows those unreached children has hidden potential? Yoshi for example, he is eleven but he couldn't read well. One day, his village was visited by a group of missionaries. He and his friends were so excited because missionaries usually would give them short classes to teach the local people as well as bringing them some food. During the classes, a teacher noticed that Yoshi didn't read nor count numbers fluently, however, he was responsive and had a significant curiosity as well. It moved the heart of the teacher which then offered Yoshi's family for scholarship program from one of the foundation specifically providing a scholarship for the potential children from remote areas of Indonesia. 10 years later, Yoshi graduated from the best university in Jakarta. Although he had tasted a comfortable life in Jakarta, he didn't forget the unfortunate children back home. He decided to return to his hometown to be a teacher for the local children. Some years later, his decision didn't only enlighten the education in his hometown but also built a quality of the people's life there.
Brethren, do we realize that when God touched our heart, we also experience the similar thing? God's love overwhelmed our heart triggers us to reach others to experience the same thing just like we have experienced. We may face many problems, or we may want to take some advantage for our own, but when we are touched by God, we surely will start to see like God sees. Therefore, it is crucial for us to draw closer to God that His love that brings life would fill our heart.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, Having a COMPASSIONATE HEART will open our eyes to SEE THE NEED OF OTHERS and be SENSITIVE WITH THEIR BURDENS
