TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL
Mark 1:40-45
TODAY'S RHEMA Mark 1:41 "Jesus was indignant. He reached out his hand and touched the man. "I am willing," he said. "Be clean!"'
Long ago, in Jewish culture, lepers will be shunned by the society because to them, leprosy was identified being cursed by the Lord and incurable (Numbers 12:10-16). Lepers back then were to wear torn clothes with hair down covering their face and to say that they were unclean. Not only that, they had to live out of the tent Lepers also suffered greatly from all kind of pain; their body, their soul, and their spirit because they were shunned by their community and by the social stigmas attached to them.
More than anything in this world a leper would want is to be healed. A leper in today's rhema must have already heard about the miracle of healing
Jesus had done in Galilee. This news made his spirit jumped and decided to look for Jesus. He fell on his knees and begged Jesus to heal him. He knew that Jesus could heal him. However, the rejection of the society made him doubt if Jesus would be willing to heal him. Moved by compassion, Jesus reached out His hand, touched the leper and said: "I am willing! Be clean!"
Jesus said "I am willing". It showed His acceptance of the leper. This marked the first miracle of healing which was the unconditional acceptance, even in the worst situation. Then, Jesus said "Be clean!" which means releasing deliverance from sickness. This marked the second miracle of healing which was physical healing.
Similar to the previous story, we also want to be free from the worst situation we face. The rejection, marriage failure, financial problem, sickness, or study failure may makes us doubtful on whether or not God will help and bless us. Today, God's word says that He is willing. God is full of compassion. Come to him and he will give you.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, believe that God is not only able, but He is also willing to help and to bless us.
