Proverbs 25:5-26
TODAY'S RHEMA Proverbs 29:25 "Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is kept safe."
J.C. Penney was born in Hamilton, Caldwell Country, Missouri. His father was a Baptist's priest and a farmer who was strict in educating his children. He had an ideal to be a lawyer but he failed after the death of his father. A young J.C. Penney was once ran a butchery store. He was informed that if he had given Bourbon (a kind of alcohol) for each week to the chef in a reputable hotel, he would make a deal for his business in the restaurant of the hotel. For a couple of time, Penney did it before he knew that he had done the wrong thing. He then realized his mistake and stopped doing what he was doing. Of course, he lost his business in that hotel and led him to bankruptcy. Nevertheless, God had a better plan for Penney. In 1898, he started to work in Golden Rule store. His perseverance and skill in selling the goods were appreciated by the owner of the store. In the year of 1902, Penney was requested to cooperate in possessing the new store that would open. He invested his saving to own 30% of share. Penney moved to Wyoming and bought another share for the other stores. Five years later, he took over all shares in his three stores. It didn't take a long time to reach success in his work. His business developed in real estate and also the farm.
The grace of God was poured out upon J.C. Penney when he listened to his heart. The Holy Spirit said and touched about unfavorable action and stopped giving Bourbon. The condition seemed worse but God replaced it with extraordinary blessing.
Likewise it happens to us. Man's consideration and advice often deliver a trap but God is a faithful God. His consideration for us always delivers grace and blessing when we listen and do it in our lives. Trust that He understands what's best for us. Amen.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, the consideration of God delivers A GRACE while man's consideration delivers A TRAP.
