The Secret To Live In God's Grace Keluarga Allah Daily Devotional January 21, 2018
TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL 2 Corinthians 12:1-10
TODAY'S RHEMA 2 Corinthians 12:9 "But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me."
When everything goes well, we often forget how great God's grace is upon our life. Sometimes we become overconfident, we think that all happens because of our own effort, skill, and hard work. But, when God allows us to experience hardship, we realize that we are powerless, nothing can help us. At that moment, we will come to Him, the only one we can rely on.
Apostle Paul wrote about his greatest weakness in one of his letters, he called it a 'thorn in the flesh'. God didn't take the thorn from Paul's flesh. But, he was not disappointed. Paul realized God used his weakness to crush his arrogance and banish his failure. His weakness had made him fully reliant on God and hoped for God's mercy. Through his weakness, he could see God's power manifest in his life.
Challenges are one of the ways God uses to purify and strengthen us. In suffering, God is close to us. Rejoice in the Lord, not in your wealth and property. Have a great heart that loves and prioritizes God more than anything, be hungry and thirsty for God, trust and rely on Him. This kind of heart will touch and trigger God's heart. When we focus and rely on Him, His mercy and grace will abundantly be released upon us. We will receive great harvests in our life.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, If you truly focus on God, you will receive His mercy in your life. This is the secret of God's grace.
APPLICATIONS 1. What is your weakness or problem you must face? How do you overcome it? 2. Can you understand what God's purpose to place that weakness into you? 3. How do you focus your heart only on God?
TODAY'S PRAYER "Lord Jesus. I realize that I am weak and powerless without You. What I have now is only by Your grace. In suffering, You are the only answer and hope. Your power and strength are real. Let me rejoice in You because You never leave me. Thank You, Lord. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen."
