Right Attitude To The Word Keluarga Allah Daily Devotional January 13, 2018
TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL 1 Thessalonians 2:13-20
TODAY'S RHEMA 1 Thessalonians 2:13 "And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe."
Bobby was a God-fearing man and dedicated all his life to serving the Lord. He grew well in his spiritual life. One day he heard a gossip about his spiritual leader that made him lose heart. From that moment on, every Sunday service he could no longer focus on the sermon. He couldn't stand the voice of his spiritual leader who preached on the podium. To him, he was full of falsity. He could not receive the WORD of God as it is and in the end became a stumbling block in his spiritual journey and caused a damage to his life. He lost the first love he had for the Lord, he could no longer recognize the voice of the Lord that his involvement in the ministry became just a routine. The burning passion he once had was gone.
Bobby a picture of many congregations and servants of God who have lost the trigger of the first love and sensitivity to the voice of the Lord these days. However, it was different with the Thessalonian congregation which received God's WORD as a divine WORD that the manifestation of the power of God worked miraculously in their lives and their lives became fruitful. Paul the Apostle declared that the Thessalonians were his joy and crown of his splendor before the Lord Jesus.
Be cautious, the biggest hindrance to us receiving the truth of the Word of God and to experience the promise of God is our attitude towards receiving the Word itself. Do we listen to it as the WORD of God or do we listen to it as the word of man? Set your eyes not on what is seen but on what is unseen (2 Cor. 4:18a). Set your mind on things above and not on the earthly things (Col. 3:2). Whenever a servant of God stands to deliver the WORD of God, believe that God's anointing is upon him. Receive his word as the WORD that comes from God so that the power of the WORD work in you and you will experience a great harvest.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, The key to experience THE FULFILLMENT OF GOD'S PROMISES of GREAT HARVEST is to RECEIVE THE WORD OF GOD as the WORD THAT COMES FROM GOD and not the word from man.
APPLICATIONS 1. What is the key to experiencing the fulfillment of God's promises? 2. Why do you need to receive the Word of God as the WORD that really comes from God? 3. How can you receive the WORD as the WORD of God?
TODAY'S PRAYER "Abba Father, thank you for your powerful Word. Teach me to receive Your Word in the right manner that Your power may work in me. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen."
