TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL Proverbs 20:1-13
TODAY'S RHEMA Proverbs 20:4 "A sluggard does not plough in season; so at harvest time he looks but finds nothing."
In a village lived an old farmer with his two sons. In his old age when his aging body was susceptible to illness and abating strength, he decided to distribute the inheritance to his two sons. Both sons received the same share of an empty land formerly a vineyard he owned. Theywere thrilled to receive such a huge piece of land and began to work on the land eagerly. However, after some time, the younger son of the old farmer began to grow weary of the daily work he had to do, he didn't tend to his farm as eagerly as when he just started and because of that.the seeds didn't grow well. Weeds started to outgrow the vineyard. Different from the younger son, the older son of the old farmer didn't lose hope and eagerly tended to his vineyard. He got up early in the morning and took really good care of his vineyard, he watered them, weeded them, and fertilized the vineyard well. When it was harvest time, the vineyard of the older son produced the best quality of grapes and buyers were in line to buy the crops whereas the vineyard of the younger son was fruitless.
Yes, it is true! The choice of ours to make. If we want a fruitful life, we have to pay the price. If we are accustomed to an effortless life, in this New Year, let us renew our commitment to lead a better life. Step out of your comfort zone, and build your relationship with God in the right way. Because when we persistently step out of the comfort zone, in due time we will receive the result of what we are paying the price for- a "great harvest" that God has kept in store for us. With God, every effort we put in will never go in vain.
