TODAY'S RHEMA 1 Samuel 1:17 "17 Then Eli answered and said, "Go in peace, and the God of Israel grant your petition which you have asked of Him.""
In the book of 1 Samuel, there was a woman named Hannah. Her husband was married to another woman and blessed with some children, meanwhile, she was barren. She was always be mocked by the other wife. It made her weep and refused to eat. Until one day, she went to the tabernacle of the Lord, spoke in the heart. Only her lips moved but her voice was not heard. Eli the priest and wept in anguish. Eli thought she was drunk and told her to go. Then Hanna told him about her problem. After he heard the story, he told Hanna to go home and said that God would grant her wish. Hannah went home with hope, so God remembered His promise and then Hannah was pregnant and gave birth to a son.
Hannah got what God had promised to her because she succeeded to catch the message from Eli. She understood and realized, although Eli was just a man, Elis was a priest. Eli talked with authority from God. Hannah caught the message as a message from God, not Eli. Hanna believed in God. She caught the message and obeyed. That's why the word of God became true in her life. A miracle happened and Hannah got what God had promised her.
We must realize when we listen to servants of God, they're being used by God to give us the message. When we read the Bible, which is written by a lot of people from many backgrounds, they're just tools from God. The source of word of God is God Himself. If we can understand this, we can receive the word of God as word of God, not a word of man. Learn to receive it as a word of God, then we will see how word of God become reality in our life. That is when the great harvest will come true in our life.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, Even though God speaks through men; the source and authority still come from God.
APPLICATIONS 1. What does 'word of God' means to you? 2. In your opinion, why the source and authority from men come from God? 3. How can you believe that the source and authority of the word of God which told by men come from God?
TODAY'S PRAYER "Jesus, I believe Your word which gives me teaching and guidance of truth for me. It gives me promise to encourage me. God, whoever tells me Your word, I believe that comes from You. Anoint me, so that I may know Your will and please You. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen"
