TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL Acts 17:16-31 TODAY'S RHEMA Acts 17:23 for as I was passing through and considering the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Therefore, the One whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you:
Right after getting reliable information about her handpicked husband to be for her arranged marriage, Princess Song-hwa ran away from the palace. She had conducted a research into the background and personality of her future husbands. One of them was Nam Chi Ho. Princess Song-hwa unintentionally witnessed Nam Chi Ho's evil act which he tried to cover up by pretending to be good. Afraid his evil act would become public knowledge, he tied up the princess to a tree and threatened to kill her. "You don't know who I am! If you still want to live, set me off, right now!" said Princess Song-hwa to Nam Chi Ho. Luckily Seo Do-Yoon, one of the royal employee, caught up with Princess Song- hwa and saved her. This is a plot from a Korean movie "The Princess and the Matchmaker".
From the plot above, we can see two different attitudes to the princess. Nam Chi Ho who didn't fully know the princess didn't have the slightest regard for her, nor did he hesitate to do evil toward her. While Seo Do-Yoon tried to save the princess even though his life was at stake too. That's all because Seo Do-Yoon knew the princess personally, so he could respect and serve the princess in the right way.
Same goes for our attitude toward the Lord Jesus. We should continually make efforts to know Him, so we can worship Him in the right way. Do not be like the people of Athens that were rebuked by Paul. They seemed to be very religious and performed rituals to worship gods. However, they did not care to know the gods they worshiped. This is contradictory. If we do not understand correctly, we will not be able to worship properly. Therefore, we should have the heart of a worshiper, so that when we build the Tabernacle of David, God is pleased to be present and sovereign in our worship. REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, THE RIGHT WORSHIP is a worship which FLOWS out of your PERSONAL UNDERSTANDING of God. APPLICATIONS 1. Do you think you have been worshipping properly? 2. Why do you need to understand God properly? 3. What is your commitment to increasing the level of your understanding of God? TODAY'S PRAYER "Heavenly Father, thank you for Your visitation. Enable me to have a better understanding of You oh Lord. Enable me to understand Your heart's desire, so I can worship You in the right way and so You would abide and be sovereign in the Tabernacle of David that I build. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen."
