A merchant raises a canary that is really good at singing in melodies. The merchant really loves the canary. The dog, cat, and chicken that is also raised by the merchant, feel envy and keep assuming that the canary is a useless pet compared to them. One day, the merchant enters the house after working hard. The exhausted body and tired mind can be clearly seen at his pale face. After that, the merchant asks his servant to bring the canary close to him. The canary sings a sweet song that fills up the room. Suddenly, the merchant feels encouraged. The confusion in him is gone, and now smile is on his face. The canary's sweet song has calmed his heart. No wonder, the merchant really loves the canary.
That is also what will happen when we understand the importance of praise and thanksgiving, we will be a man after God's own heart. Moreover, sometimes it is not our hard work that makes God glad. There is a time when God wants us to leave everything to worship, praise, and thanksgiving for Him. That is what is acceptable and glad His heart.
Today, let us commit to build a life full of praise and worship. In David's tent or in our daily devotion, start to praise God for every simple thing around us. Give thanks for every small blessing we have received or experienced. Fulfill God's throne with praises and thanksgiving so that God's heart will be delighted and He will be pleased to reveal his blessing and His hand on our lives.
