TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL Psalm 95: 1-11
TODAY'S RHEMA Psalm 95:2 Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.
Giving is a common thing for Duke McGregor. He often donates for the needy, especially giving scholarship for poor children and orphanage. Every Christmas, he always sends presents for the children in orphanage throughout England. It is certain that his house was full of thanksgiving letters from the orphanage's principal every new year. However, there's something different this time. He sees a bright-colored letter. Actually, it's from a child who sent it personally. This child told him his gladness after getting a red sweater because his old one had been shabby.
It didn't stop to this point, that child sent the letter again. In his letter, he said, "Today is so cold but my body keeps warm because of the sweater from you, thank you, Sir!" Then, he wrote another letter and said, "I got wet in the rain and my sweater was also, but I'm still happy for I remember the warmth it gave me." Thank you for brightening my days." Touched by those letters, Duke McGregor ordered his employee to get information about that child. No long after that, the child was adopted into Duke's family.
No one isn't pleased to be appreciated. Like the child who touched Duke's heart with his thanksgiving, we're also able to touch God's heart with our praise and thanksgiving. Our Thanksgiving is like a password to access God's heart. When we do it properly, the windows of Heaven will be opened and the answer to our prayers will be given. That is why the time we come into Father's presence in our silent time or David's Tent, come with thankful heart and love of God. It's because we love Him and want to fill up His throne with our thanksgivings instead of pursuing His blessings. REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, THANKSGIVING is THE PASSWORD that will OPEN HEAVEN'S GATE upon your life. APPLICATIONS 1. When you come before God, do you often giving thanks, grumbling or asking for something? Why? 2. Why does thanksgiving become password to open Heaven's door? 3. How can you start thanksgiving for all you're experiencing now? TODAY'S PRAYER "Kind Father, no one takes care of my life as You. You know what's best for me and always fulfill my life with Your kindness. Teach me to fulfill my heart with thanksgiving so that I always please Your heart. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen."
