TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL Psalm 100:1-5 TODAY'S RHEMA Psalm 100:2 Serve the LORD with gladness; Come before His presence with singing.
That day should be a happy day. The greatest kingdom on the earth is celebrating the day of their kingdom. The king also held a grander celebration in his palace. However, the head of one of the groups of artists that chosen to present music and dance in the palace received bad news from his family. His wife had just given birth. And his son was born premature. No one knows whether or not the baby will survive. He can just appoint someone else to replace him but he chose to stay because he wanted to make sure his team to give the best to the king they respect.
Finally, his time came to perform, even though his heart was not in his happiest moment, he did his best to sing from the heart joyfully. He recalled the greatness and goodness of the king for his people. He led his group to praise and glorify the king. They were so lively and cheerful, so the king was impressed. To the extent, the king allows him to submit a wish. Without much thought, he requested that the king send the royal physician to examine his premature son. His wish was granted, his son survived and not only that, his child could grow up healthy and the king also gave them the honor to be a royal musician.
Just like the king in the story above, the king of all kings we worship will be pleased, if we come to him with a joyful heart. We cannot avoid problems in life. However, true praise and worship don't depend on our emotions. It is a decision and determination. It doesn't depend on us but depends on God. When we are offering worship and praise, we are not serving our own feelings. God is the one who should enjoy our worship and praise. If we can realize this truth and build the Tent of David with all our hearts, rest assured that God who judges the heart will turn our tears into joy. REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, The secret of praise and thanksgiving that touches God's heart is to praise Him with A JOYFUL HEART. APPLICATIONS 1. Why is God's heart touched when you praise Him with a joyful heart? 2. What has been blocking you from being able to come to God with a joyful heart? 3. How can you praise Him with a joyful heart? TODAY'S PRAYER "Dear God, You are King of kings. Your love is immeasurable. Reign on my praise o God. Work in my life. Let the David's Tent be a place full of worship so that Your power will pour over me. The place of your promises is fulfilled and you turn tears into dance. In the name of the Lord Jesus, I pray. Amen."
