Ben had to attend an event outside the city. Exactly at 7 a.m., he commenced his journey, riding his motorcycle. He predicted that in two hours he'd have arrived at his destination. As he continued, he was enjoying the wind and beautiful scenery when suddenly, his motorcycle's machine faltered and stopped. Ben tried to restart the motorcycle, but it wasn't responding. He alighted from the motorcycle to get a closer look at the machine. Luckily he realized the importance of spark plug for a motorcycle, so he kept one as a backup in the motorcycle's storage. After he changed the spark plug, the machine came on. Ben continued his journey right away and arrived at the destination on time.
Just like a motorcycle that cannot function well without a spark plug, the movement of God's revival will not move well without the Ark of the Covenant. This is what Saul failed to realize. He kept the ark somewhere in Israel. Unlike Saul, David in his regime ensured the Ark of the Covenant was glorified again. David had the initiative to invite Israelites to return the ark to Jerusalem, the center of their government. Little wonder the Israeli Kingdom remained undefeated during David's regime.
In this era, we need to be like David who saw the beauty of the Ark of the Covenant. Without it, David's tent was just an ordinary tent, devoid of God's presence. But when the Ark of the Covenant was brought back, it became an amazing place. It is true that now the exact location of the ark is unknown, but we have to realize that the ark is the symbol of God's presence. Just like David who built a place for the Ark of the Covenant, we have to prepare our place for God's presence to be enthroned in the midst of us. REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, THE MOST IMPORTANT THING in David's Tent is THE ARK OF THE COVENANT, don't ignore it. APPLICATIONS 1. Is your spiritual life now on fire for God? 2. Why is the Ark of the Covenant the most important place in David's Tent? 3. How can David's Tent which you build always present the power of God? TODAY'S PRAYER "Jesus Christ, I thank you because You have been the mediator to the Father in Heaven. I thank you because the Holy Spirit has made me understand that the Ark of the Covenant is about Your presence O God and I am the living temple today. I thank You because You will always be in and with me. In the name of Jesus, I have prayed. Amen."
