FOOD FOR THE SOUL Psalm 69:1-37 TODAY'S RHEMA Psalm 69:10a for zeal for your house consumes me,
When we love someone, we will always want to be with him/her. We would miss them when s/he is not around us. It's what happened to Earl and Joanna. This couple had been married for just one week and was not able to see each other every day, but could only meet once a week because of work. However, they kept communicating every day, either by calling, sending messages, or sometimes Earl would pay Joanna a surprise visit without telling her first. Why do they build a very intense communication? The answer is because of love. Because of love, they sacrificed and understood each other. Love made them get intimate.
Likewise, our relationship with God. Even though we cannot physically see God, we can feel His presence spiritually. In the spirit, we can meet God personally. Through worship and praise, we can approach His holy throne. However, the praise God wants is not just a compliment coming out of our mouth through songs of praise. He desires the praise that is filled with love and passion for Him, and it pleases in His heart.
When we worship God, it means we are expressing our love for the One who died and set us free. When we truly love God, we will always want to stay in God's presence. The longer we stay in His presence, the more we will know God, and we will increasingly understand His will and heart. The more we know God, we can worship Him even more with great love and passion. This is what is called true worship. Devotees with hearts of worship are what God longs to build in the Tabernacle of David. REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, If you long to be A TRUE WORSHIPPER, you must HAVE A HEART FILLED WITH LOVE and PASSION for God. APPLICATIONS 1. Do you have a special time to worship God? Why? 2. Are there things that hinder you from being a true worshipper? Please mention! 3. What commitment can you make to worship Him more earnestly? TODAY'S PRAYER "Lord Jesus, thank you for the reminder that I should be a true worshipper. I desire to have a heart full of love and passion for You so that I can stay forever in Your presence. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen."
