'Why is my life so burdened?' complained Ben. Not so long ago, his business suffered a big loss. Left him quite significant debts. As if that was not enough, an unfortunate accident happened while he rode his motorcycle resulting in a number of bone fractures. He could not go to work. All that he could imagine was enormous medical bills due to the surgery and hospitalization. Additionally, he and his wife were expecting a baby, due the following month. He could not understand how to overcome these problems that suddenly surrounded his life.
Ben was being overwhelmed. It is very easy for people in Ben's situation to feel discouraged. However, let's us learn from Jehoshaphat. Facing the siege of his vast enemies, Jehoshaphat immediately leaned his focus on God (v.12). Along with the people of Judah, they rose to sing praises to God. The Bible also records that God Himself intervened, destroying the enemies completely. Not only did God gave victory, but also so much plunder, it took them three days to haul it off.
We need to know one thing that God understands how big the mountain of our problems is. He never belittles our mountain of problems. He cares about how real and serious the difficulties we face are. However, He also knows that the more we look at the mountains that surround our lives, the more we feel hopeless. We should stop staring and lamenting about the mountain of problems instead remember God's unconditional love in our lives. Praise the greatness of His power and deeds. Declare His promises and watch our faith soar above the situation. This is the power of praise & worship, focusing our gaze on God. Praise & worship also moves God's heart, so that the Lord comes to our aid. Therefore, remember the Rhema that God gave to build the Tabernacle of David. Have faith that when we all lift our praises up, God will bring heaven down into our midst. REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, Build the Tabernacle of David AS MANY AS POSSIBLE, so God will cause MIRACLES and GREAT VISITATION into our midst. APPLICATIONS 1. Cause my complaints to be replaced by the praises that flows from my heart. Let worship be the pulse of my life, so that I can live in Your miracles. In the name of the Lord Jesus, I pray. Amen. "
