TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL 1 Chronicles 25:1-7 TODAY'S RHEMA 1 Chronicles 25:1 Moreover David and the captains of the army separated for the service some of the sons of Asaph, of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who should prophesy with harps, stringed instruments, and cymbals.
While in a long distance relationship with Lacey, Noel often dealt with jealousy. Noel was an introvert, while Lacey was an extrovert with a lot of social circles. They were total opposites. Noel would get jealous and angry when Lacey had any interaction with her male friends. Their relationship was filled with tension and misunderstanding.
As time went by, Noel started to attend church services, joined cell groups, and even joined Pondok Daud (Tabernacle of David; worship and prayer meeting) at his church. At home, he dedicated a lot of his time to worship God. Not long after, all of his insecurity that made him be easily jealous, worried and paranoid were replaced by security he found in Jesus as he continued building his intimacy with God through worship. He was changed drastically. He became a person who put God first in his life, and he no longer was jealous of Lacey's friendship with her male friends and many positive changes happened. They eventually got married, and their marriage was much happier compared to their courtship years. All of these changes happened because Noel made a commitment to build his intimacy with God in his life.
Every now and then, we are faced with life problems and challenges. Many of us feel inadequate, and thus we are defeated by our own worries. Although there are times when we have to fight in our human ways, there are other times when we have to use our spiritual weapons against our spiritual enemy – "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places" (Ephesians 6:12). Our spirit man will be made stronger when we build a holy tabernacle in our lives for an intimate relationship with God. Hence, we should meditate on our Rhema from God and make the commitment to build intimacy with God in our lives. Let us believe that God has graciously given us the power and authority to win the spiritual battles in our lives so that we will experience victory after victory in all aspects of life – financial, family reconciliation, our studies, or even our work.
