TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL 2 Samuel 6:1-19 TODAY'S RHEMA 2 Samuel 6:12 Now it was told King David, saying, "The LORD has blessed the house of Obed-Edom and all that belongs to him, because of the ark of God." So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-Edom to the City of David with gladness.
Each of us has desires that move our lives. The desire to be happy, rich, successful, or have a big name. For Dylan, the desires were a bit of all that. He wanted to have a happy family, a simple home, and a steady job. However, while he pursued his desires, the journey instead moved towards failure. His work and family life were filled with limitation, stagnation, and frustration. It all changed when he made a private relationship with the Lord Jesus at the Tabernacle of David. Dylan began to learn to divert it from his desires to the person of Jesus. Unexpected, while increasingly centered on God, the things he dreamed of one by one were given to him. It also exceeds his expectations.
Yes, God's compilation becomes the center of our lives, His heart will be pleasing and there is nothing He will not do for us. When David failed to bring the Ark of the Covenant in the cart with oxen and later brought it to the house of Obed-Edom, the Israelites could see the greatness of God in the house of Obed-Edom. David also knew his mistake. He immediately carried the ark and offered burnt sacrifices every six steps. During that time, he danced joyfully.
So far, some of us may have brought Jesus into our lives in the wrong way. Like the Ark of the Covenant that cannot be carried by cart, there is no easy way to follow Christ. Each of us must be willing to carry Him by carrying our own cross. When we walk with Him, we must be willing to sacrifice our personal desires, even our own egos, and feelings. Make Jesus our only desire. The first and the first. Let God be the 'motor' of our lives, that's the only to bring the Ark of the Covenant into David's tent. While we sacrifice and rejoice in God, then His glory will be manifested greatly in our midst. REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, If you have THE ARK OF THE COVENANT in your life, then God will SHOWER YOU with abundance. APPLICATIONS 1. Have you had the Ark of the Covenant which is Jesus Christ as the center of your life? Why? 2. Why do you need to have Him in your life? 3. How do you get Him in your life? TODAY'S PRAYER "Lord Jesus, You are my Ark of Covenant. Teach me to always respect and honor you in my daily life. Purify my heart so that I have the right motif to make You the center of my life and the center of my worship in the Tabernacle of David. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen."
