TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL

Acts 8: 4-25

TODAY'S RHEMA
Acts 8: 4 "Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went."

Richard Wurmbrand (24th March 1909 – 17th February 2001) was a Jewish Romanian Christian. He had been a Christian for ten years and in 1948, he finally mustered his courage to publicly reveal his faith, and for that, he was imprisoned and tortured by the Romanian communist regime. After his second five years imprisonment, he was bailed out by his friends with the amount of money $10,000. He was then urged to get out of the country and work for the religious freedom from another safer place. After they have spent some times in Norway and England, he and his wife Sabina emigrated to the United States of America and dedicated their life to help Christian who were persecuted for their belief and to make "the kind of suffering" known to the public. He wrote more than 18 books, the most widely known is, Tortured for Christ. His works had been translated into more than 60 languages. He founded the international organization Voice of the Martyrs, which continues to aid Christians around the world who are persecuted for their faith.

We may oftentimes experience the same thing: we have the desire to do great things for the glory of God but still, we go back and forth undecided. You may want to open your home for home cell group, or you have been called by God to do certain things but still you drag on the time. There lays a huge gap between your desire and the courage to take the first step. It talks about commitment. The decision to go and move for the glory of God requires commitment. What kind of commitment? It is a solid commitment to keep us strong and unshakable regardless of the situation we have to face, because, without solid commitment, we may turn back from God when we encounter some difficulties. Without strong and solid commitment, we may easily change mind and turn for something else.
Thus, let's make a commitment to serve God earnestly. God is using ordinary people to do extraordinary things. Why? Because He wants us to always understand and remember that God himself who does the work through us and not our own strength.

REFLECTION
Saudara Terkasih, not only desire but commitment to make a move is needed until the glory of God is revealed.

APPLICATION
  1. Do you dare to make a commitment not to delay nor doubt in doing His will and bringing glory to Him?
  2. How strong is your commitment to God? Are the persistence of your heart and the belief in God remaining strong when the storm and the pressure of life oppress you?

TODAY'S PRAYER
"Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for all the blessing that You have given to me. Here I am, Lord. This is my devotion and my commitment that I am desirous to give my life and be used to fulfill Your plan. Teach me to keep walking on the right path of Your plan and at the end, my life could bring glory to You. In the name of Jesus, I pray, Amen."
