TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL

2 Corinthians 11:7-33

TODAY'S RHEMA
2 Corinthians 11:23 "Are they servants of Christ? (I am out of my mind to talk like this.) I am more. I have worked much harder, been in prison more frequently, been flogged more severely, and been exposed to death again and again."

What do you have in mind when we talk about sacrifice? Will it be possible for you to think that sacrifice is a beautiful picture? But wait until you have to sacrifice something, from one sacrifice to another bigger sacrifice. In time we started our ministry, we start with blazing determination. We serve with motivation to serve God because we love Him and to please Him. We feel like we could give everything out of us for Him; time, energy, money, comfort, ego and right, however, how many of us at some point we feel that the sacrifice we made previously already great enough? Or maybe we started to feel we lose some interest, tired with all the sacrifice 'business" and at some point, without realizing it, we started to bargain with God, negotiate on what we feel like to sacrifice and what we feel like to keep.

Apostle Paul, at one point of his evangelism journey, after doing so much for the Lord, giving all of him to God, still, needed to face the judgment and trial from the Corinthians. His credibility as an apostle and a teacher was questioned, even compared with some false prophets at that time. However, all of those accusation did not make him lose heart. In his defense statements, he reminded his accusers about all he would sacrifice to serve the Lord and the people, in fact, Paul was trying to make the Corinthians realize something. He was faithful to lead them back to the way of the Lord. Paul did all wholeheartedly. He sacrificed everything, even his ego. No wonder God anointed him greatly and through his ministry, the word of God were spread throughout the world.

When all sacrifices we did seemed draining our energy, what should we do? Shall we keep sacrificing and acting faithfully in our ministry just as Paul did, or stop before we reach our destination?

REFLECTION
Saudara Terkasih, our willingness to SACRIFICE will move the heart of God to use us in HIS BIG PLAN.

APPLICATION
  1. In your opinion, what is meant by sacrifice?
  2. Why do we have to sacrifice for the Lord?
  3. What would you do in terms of sacrificing something for God?

TODAY'S PRAYER
"Forgive me, o, God, if my faithfulness is loosened up and I start to make a selfish consideration about what are the gains and losses in serving You. Give me a heart willing to sacrifice more for You so I could pay Your sacrifice on the cross back. In Lord Jesus' name, I pray. Amen."
