TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL
Luke 7:36-50
TODAY'S RHEMA Luke 7:38 "As she stood behind him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured perfume on them."
Thomas Samson was a miner from Wales. Every day he worked hard with very long work hour at the mining workplace, a job with dangerous-risked life and unstable income. Someday, foreman of the mining found him and said, "Thomas, I have better and easier job for you and also better money. Are you interested?" "Oh of course I am," Thomas said, "I'm really interested Sir, but would you consider giving the job to my best friend Tregony? He is not strong as I am and he is not able to work on something heavy and I am afraid if he works at the mining, it will shorten his life and I will lose a best friend, is he possible to get the job?" The Foreman was surprised and deeply touched by his generosity. He gave away the chance to his best friend.
Thomas kept working hard, when there was another job vacancy open, again the foreman offered the job to Thomas and this time, Thomas accepted the offer. Thomas and Tregony were working together side by side for 2 decade.
Thomas's generosity impressed the heart of the foreman so that when another opportunity came, Thomas was promoted to a better job he deserved.
Thus when our heart is filled with generosity to be a blessing to others, God's heart is touched and He will bestow His blessing upon our life. When we give sincerely and joyfully, God is delighted because God loves those who give joyfully (2 Corinthians 9:7b).
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, having a giving heart draws us CLOSER TO GOD.
