TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL
Luke 6: 27-36
TODAY'S RHEMA Luke 6:36 "Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful."
A missionary was somehow lost in the open sea and stranded on an island. The people of the remote island found him dying of starving. They took care of him until he regained his health. Then, he stayed with the people for about twenty years. All those years he spent with the people there, he never talked about Christianity, nor sang gospel songs, nor preached about anything, nor read the Bible and talked about it. Somehow, whenever the people were ill, he came to them and helped them as far as he could. If they were hungry, he gave them food. If they were lonely, he accompanied them. He taught the uneducated people and came to help them whenever they were wrongly accused by someone else. One day, a group of missionaries came to the island and talked about Jesus to the people in the village. After the listened to the story about Jesus' services and teachings, they insisted that Jesus had been living among them for about twenty years. "Let us introduce you to the person you talk about." They took the missionaries to the hut. The missionaries found out that he was their long lost friend who was considered dead.
Could other people see the portrayal of Jesus in your life? How the merciful heart of Jesus has taken over your heart? It is true that we, as human beings, have the tendency to be firm in our own ego, indifferent, and apathetic with our surroundings. However, as Jesus' followers, we should shine the light of Jesus' love to our surroundings. If we think we don't have the ability or power to do it, ask help from the Holy Spirit. He will enable us to be His witness for His glory. Therefore, people can see the portrayal of Jesus in our life.
