TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL Deuteronomy 28:1-14 TODAY'S RHEMA Deuteronomy 28:13 The LORD will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the LORD your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.
Woodrow Wilson started out as a lecturer before he eventually became the president of Princeton University. Even though he was known to be close to his students, he was also renowned for his strictness toward students who were not serious. One day, the mother of a student who had been expelled because of cheating came and requested that her child is readmitted to the school. She reasoned that the expulsion would damage her health and reputation, and it might even kill her. Wilson responded, "Ma'am, if I were to choose between your life, or mine, or someone else's, and what's best for this university, then I would choose what's best for this school because that's my responsibility." Because of his great sense of responsibility, Wilson's career kept advancing to higher levels. After his time as the president of the university had ended, he was elected as the Governor of New Jersey. In 1913, Wilson became the 28th President of the United States, holding the title for two full terms.
When God entrusts us with something, He expects our full responsibility. Regardless of our position and role, we have to be responsible with what we have been asked to do. Whilst trying to achieve success, we must have the courage to make important and difficult decisions, and we shall never avoid the consequences. The higher our position, the bigger the responsibility that we must take.
Our ability to take responsibility determines how much blessings God will entrust us with. When we endure our part and portion together with God, He shall enable us. Our part is to have the courage to take on more responsibility, be willing to pay the price to do what we are asked to do and to sacrifice to finish it. We must believe and have confidence that God will give us the strength, and there will be times where He will even take charge and lead our battle. He will take us higher and higher, to be the head and not the tail. According to His will, God will bring us to a higher level. Amen. REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, God longs to TAKE YOU to a HIGHER LEVEL. He also longs for you to take a HIGHER LEVEL of RESPONSIBILITY. APPLICATIONS 1. Is there any responsibility that will be entrusted to you, yet you are hesitant to take it? What makes you hesitate? 2. Why does God want you to take a higher level of responsibility? 3. What steps can you take to receive that responsibility? TODAY'S PRAYER "Father, thank you for longing to make me the head and not the tail. Strengthen my heart, so I can do whatever you ask me to do with great responsibility. Let what I do bring glory to Your name. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen."
