TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL James 2:14-26 TODAY'S RHEMA James 2:18 But someone will say, "You have faith; I have deeds." Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds."
That afternoon Ryan was upset as he saw the food stand next to his were crowded with customers whereas his food stand was like usual, empty of customers. He was thinking hard why did that happen? Both have the same business, more or less the same food and as a bonus, Ryan sold his food at a cheaper price. Therefore Ryan started to grumble. He thought to himself that he was such a devout Christian; he never missed any Sunday services, he tithe every month without fail, pray every day, and so on, but why God blessed his competitors more and on top of that, his competitor wasn't a believer. He has got more upset in thinking about all those. God sure had a way of opening something to His children. While sharing about his thought to his cell group friends, Ryan's mind was opened for an understanding that even though his competitors sells his food for the higher price, customers always came and went. Why? Because his competitors did something he didn't. He diligently promoted his product well and constantly through social media and other media, also every time and then threw programs with prizes, he also open for delivery. In short, he did all the things Ryan didn't. He did all things that to Ryan considered as troublesome.
As children of God, it is true that we have to pray about all things because all victories, and success' comes from God. God is the owner of all things, he has the power and right whom to bless. However, God isn't God who pamper his children. He is a stern Father and loves His children to be someone accountable for what He has been given and about to give us.
Realize that depending on God does not mean doing nothing. Rely on God means, we try our best while admitting that only in Him, there is victory and glory, both in Heaven and Earth. Not because of our strength or our intelligence, But God who gave wisdom and lead our path, so that everything we do is successful. Right, pray hard and work hard is inseparable. Do the best in our struggle, then we will witness the triumph of victory that brings our lives to a higher level of glory. REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, In order to achieve GLORIOUS VICTORY, you need to PRAY HARD and also WORK HARD. APPLICATIONS 1. How do you live your life all this time? Father in heaven, Don not let my spirit waver in working and praying. For I know, without prayers, no matter how good my work is, i will never be perfect. Relatively, without struggle, my prayer and my faith will be for nothing. Teach me Father, so I shall only go up and not down, both in my spirit and work until Your glory shines in my life. In the name of Lord Jesus, I pray. Amen."
