TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL
2 Kings 7: 1-10

TODAY'S RHEMA

2 Kings 7:2 The officer on whose arm the king was leaning said to the man of God, "Look, even if the Lord should open the floodgates of the heavens, could this happen?" "You will see it with your own eyes," answered Elisha, "but you will not eat any of it!"

God's miracle is one thing that everyone looks forward to in their life. Especially people who are in great difficulties. There was one time when the Israelites in Samaria experienced famine because of Arameans' invasion (2 Kings 6:24-25). When Elisha told that God would provide help for them, an officer who was King Jehoram's right-hand man responded with a mock. He said that even God opened the floodgates of Heaven, it was impossible for them to experience the miracle Elisha mentioned. His doubt was not without a reason. At that time prices were extremely high that there was a woman who had the guts to eat her own child. But his doubt wasn't a correct response. Eventually, when His miraculous works were done, King Jehoram's right-hand man couldn't obtain anything. He was even trampled to death by the people who were rushing to experience the miracle.

We can see a very different response coming from a centurion in Capernaum at Jesus's time. When he asked Jesus to heal his servant who was paralyzed, he didn't only respond to God's miraculous power with an open heart, but even more, he showed his giant faith (Matthew 8:5-10). His servant was healed at that very hour (Matthew 8:13).

We might have found similar stories occurring around us, or even ourselves might have experienced them. If we have an open heart like the centurion in Capernaum, we will experience God's miracle for sure. But what will happen if we greet God's miracle with a doubtful response? If we find ourselves doubting like King Jehoram's right-hand man, ask God for forgiveness and make a commitment to throw away doubt from our hearts, whatever the condition is. Respond to God's miracle with an open heart, so that God will take our lives to a higher level.
