TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL Joshua 23:1-16
TODAY'S RHEMA Joshua 23:14b Now I am about to go the way of all the earth. You know with all your heart and soul that not one of all the good promises the Lord your God gave you has failed. Every promise has been fulfilled; not one has failed.
Before Joshua retired from leading the Israelites, he called the whole nation to deliver the farewell message to all of them. In the message, Joshua said about the how amazing God's providence fulfilled and how God fulfilled His promise, in addition to reminds the Israelites about the great things God ever did, he also advised the nation to encourage and strengthen their heart, not associating with the idolater nations and remain faithful to God. To the nation, Joshua gave the guarantee that all God's promises would be fulfilled as long as they follow God's guideline by becoming strong and of a good courage.
As Joshua and the Israelites, we are as believers, of course, we received God's promises in our life. But how about the promises that haven't been answered yet, are we still waiting upon those promises? Of course, we should strengthen and encourage our heart to wait upon the promises to be fulfilled. Maybe the challenge is not the same as Joshua had. Joshua fought physically but we currently fighting in spiritual warfare and the pressure of the world might weaken us.
As Joshua told the Israelites to keep strengthening and encouraging their heart, let's keep learning to do the same. There would be a challenge but keep our focus on God's marvelous deeds He has done and about to do for us. Believe that God is the faithful God and no matter what the challenge, we are able to face all those things with Him and even by all those things, we are elevated to the higher level in our life. REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, BE STRONG and BE COURAGEOUS for all the good things God has promised will be fulfilled. APPLICATIONS 1. What are the God's promises in your life? Mention them! 2. Why do you need to keep encouraging and strengthening your heart in waiting for God's promises? 3. What is your commitment to making God's promises fulfilled in your life? TODAY'S PRAYER "My heavenly Father, thank you for all promises you have given me. Please enable me to keep strengthening and encouraging my heart for I believe that all your promises will be fulfilled. In Jesus name, I pray, Amen."
