TODAY'S READING Isaiah 40:10-31 TODAY'S RHEMA Isaiah 40:31 but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Little Kara got impatient because her mother promised her that she will come home earlier than usual for her but even after 4 pm she didn't show up yet. Little Kara was impatient because her aunt who lives in Japan sent her a dollhouse came with some lights and music box. Her mom asked her to not start assembling the dollhouse on her own. For a moment, little Kara looked at the box in front of her. She thought to herself that she can do it on her own. A moment later, Kara decided to start assembling the dollhouse even though she can't read the manual written in a foreign language. When her mom came home, she found her crying because her fingers were glued together and her dollhouse was formless.
Just like little Kara, we sometimes also lose our patience. Not only because we live in a fast-moving era but also because we have long activities list during the day that made us be so accustomed to anything that is fast, brief, and instant. Likewise when we are waiting on God and His guidance. We might be praying for so long and seek His answer for some period of times, but when it seems that God is not answering us, we tend to act on our own understanding. It all ends with us not being satisfied with the fruit of our labor. Oftentimes, it also leads to failure and disappointment.
Know that when God makes us wait, He has a purpose. He understands how many things we have to finish, and how complicated our life is. However, God also knows how we are unable to do things without Him. When we learn to sit quietly at His feet, He will reveal His word and limitless wisdom. God wants to bring us to a higher level, to be more like Christ, in patience and humility. He will restore our strength and anoint us, that we may persevere for the sake of His glorification. REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, The first key to successfully STEPPING INTO THE GREATER GLORY is learning to WAIT UPON THE LORD until He reveals His WISDOM and GLORY. APPLICATIONS 1. What does it mean to wait upon the Lord? 2. Why do you need to wait upon the Lord in all things? 3. How can you wait upon the Lord through your many troubles? TODAY'S PRAYER "Good Father, thank You that You know every second and the step of my life. Your love is great, and we trust that Your plans are above our plans. Teach me to wait on You in our life. In Jesus' name, I pray, Amen."
