TODAY'S RHEMA Romans 12:11 not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;
Victor and Leon were best friends. Both of them registered as volunteers in the church they were growing spiritually in the multimedia ministry as cameramen. After some time, Leon started to complain and got bored with the volunteer work. It was because volunteering required long work hours and reduced the time he spent hanging out with friends. Moreover, he thought that the volunteer work he was doing was useless because though he was better than Victor in handling the camera, he didn't get paid. For these reasons, Leon resigned from the multimedia ministry and became an ordinary church attendee. However, Victor was the other way around. He served in the field he chose faithfully, never complained about the volunteer work he did and submitted to authority. Eventually, Victor was entrusted with a greater responsibility in the ministry.
What distinguished Victor and Leon's ministry? It was their passion in serving God. Victor remained passionate about serving, while Leon only complained. Leon considered his ministry as a job, so he demanded wages. Victor considered his ministry as an opportunity to work, to develop his skills, and to please God, therefore, he didn't worry about getting paid. What about us, have we been running our ministry, work, college, business, or family with enthusiasm, or complaint?
We can go to college without passion, but we can not get the best grades without passion. We can get married without enthusiasm, but we can not be happy in a marriage without enthusiasm. We can serve without passion, but we can not please God without passion. Only when we are passionate and our spirits are on fire can we experience progress, succeed, be the best, multiply, be fruitful, and pleasing to God. However, there is always a difference between those who are passionate and those who are not enthusiastic. So, be passionate about your work and all you do so as to fully experience an extraordinary life with God.
