One night, Senator John Stennis was robbed just around his neighborhood. Even though he gave up all the belongings that were on him, the robbers shot him twice. The surgeon at Walter Reed Medical Center worked hard for more than 6 hours to save his life. Meanwhile, Senator Mark Hatfield a member of an opposing political party who often clashed with Stennis heard about his situation and rushed to the hospital and once he arrived, he found the telephone operator staff of the hospital got overwhelmed by the phone calls from fellow senators, reporters, and other colleagues
Then Hatfield offered his help and answered the phone calls until the next morning. When he was about to go home, he introduced himself "My name is Mark Hatfield, glad to help on behalf of someone who I respect." The next day, the help Hatfield rendered became part of Stennis's Robbery story and it made people sympathize with Hatfield.
Regardless of how good the ministry of Jesus was, it didn't make everyone to love Him. The same thing with us, no matter how many good deeds we do, it doesn't guarantee we will be loved by others. There will be some people who feel uncomfortable with what we did, even some people will outrightly oppose us. We cannot coerce others to support and have the same opinion as us, but we can control ourselves not to hate others. No matter how bad people behave to us, we are not supposed to hold a grudge against them. However, the choice is ours to make. If we repay them with hatred, we will be no different from them, otherwise, we are better than them, the fact is something that we sow always be returned to us. If we live by practicing the God's love, we will enjoy the amazing life
