TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL 2 Corinthians 4:5-18 TODAY'S RHEMA 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed
A poor old man lived in a small village where he collected timber from wood to be sold in the market to make a living. The only valuable thing he owned was a horse that accompanied him loyally wherever he went. One fateful day that seemed like every other, the old man collected timber and his horse grazed. After gathering his timber, he called his horse to take him to the market. After calling repeatedly and no response, he searched for it and the horse could not be found. At the end, the old man went to market shouldering all those timbers by himself.
On the way back home, he met his neighbor who asked him about his horse. After recalling what happened, he said, "What an unfortunate old man. You are poor, and your only valuable now is gone." However, the old man refuted, "We don't know exactly what happened, this might be a blessing from God." Others who heard his response started wondering that he might have gone senile. The next day, the lost horse has returned. It didn't return alone, it returned with some 'friends': wild horses. The old man was no longer poor as he became a rich horse breeder.
