A digital content company held a random lottery for its loyal users who happened to have the same birthday as the company. The outcome showed that Ricky was the lucky winner of the lottery. The company then contacted Ricky to share the good news with him as he received a free package tour to Japan. However, when contacted, Ricky didn't receive the news well, he instead accused the company of fraud without listening to any further explanation. Not long after the incident, Ricky's mom called to inform him that his father bought him a new car, but he could only have it if he came home to take the key. With a heart full of joy, R Ricky immediately reserved a seat at the transport company and prepared to leave for Bandung to his parent's home.
Why did Ricky react differently toward the news received from the Digital Company and the news he received from his mother? Of course, because Ricky trusted his parents. He was rest assure that his mother will never lie to him. Without taking cognizance, we, oftentimes treat God as a stranger even though God has already given us many wonderful promises. Our actions betray our trust in His precious promises.
Always remember that as a good Father, God always prepares the best for His children. He has prepared a beautiful and hopeful future for us (Jeremiah 29:11). His only begotten Son, whom He gave to be crucified for our sins is the clear proof of His limitless love for us. God, Himself said, "You are precious in my sight and glorious, and I love you" (Isa 43: 4a). He always accepts us as we are, but doesn't leave us as we are. The more we realize and trust His great love for us, we will become more and more "addicted" to His love. It will also create a hunger in the spirit that will attract the miraculous in our lives.
