Some time ago, a man in China raised horses to earn money. One day, one of his male horses strayed away from its stable. Then, his friends gathered to cheer him but he thanked God for only one missing horse. The following week, that horse came back with seven wild horses. The man's friends gathered again to celebrate his good fortune. The next morning, one of the seven wild horses kicked the owner's son that resulted in a broken bone arm. His friends came again to show their sympathy, but once again that man was thankful that his son didn't suffer a deadly injury. Not long after that, the war began and his son couldn't be signed up to fight while his peers had to fight in the battle. One more time, the friends came again to feast. They considered that the man was fortunate.
When everything goes well, it is easy for us to be thankful. However, being thankful seems impossible to do when we're sick, in lack and have problems in family life.
If we observe deeply, there's always something that we can be thankful for in every unpleasant situation. We can take examples from the story above: one lost horse, there were still the others and when the horse hurt his son, thankfully it wasn't his head that got injured. It also applies to other bad conditions. Seek out things to be thankful for. If one bad thing happens, there are ten reasons we get to be thankful. Believe that everything happens with God's knowledge. He will give strength to face temptations. No matter how our condition is, God wants us to be thankful because we will experience extraordinary life with Him. There's a miracle behind thanksgiving.
