While still worrying about his salary which could barely cover monthly expenses, Mr. Matthew heard that his mother suffered from a serious illness which cost a fortune to treat. Moreover, he had debts to pay while his son asked for a new motorcycle. All these things made Mr. Matthew frustrated, not knowing what to do.
Perhaps we are faced with the same situation as the story above. Life's burdens are unbearable and we can't stand it anymore. But Jesus says "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). Jesus did this in Gethsemane before being arrested. He humbled Himself before the Father and prayed. He poured out His heart, distress and fear and the Father sent His angel to strengthen Jesus.
Are you facing hard times? Keep relying on God. Do not feel despair because of hardship or look for help from where there is no help. Make God your first point of call, not your last resort. Take time to seek God in prayer and His word. And you will experience the comfort and help of the Holy Spirit, the Comforter. The comfort given by the Holy Spirit is different from the world's. When we pray and study the word, staying in God's presence, we will receive power and supernatural strength from Him. This will enable us to find a solution to the problem and the burden rolled away. That way, we will experience a victorious life. REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, When you GET CLOSER TO GOD, you will RECEIVE POWER AND SUPERNATURAL STRENGTH APPLICATIONS 1. What are you doing to overcome your hardship now? 2. Who is the Holy Spirit and what is His role in your life? What will He impart to your life when you are close to Him? 3. How can you get closer to God? TODAY'S PRAYER "My Kind Father, thank You for the Holy Spirit that You give to help and comfort me, especially in my difficult times. Remind me to always live in Your presence, to pray more and meditate on Your Word so that I may get power and supernatural strength leading to an extraordinary and victorious life. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen."
