TODAY'S RHEMA 1 Corinthians 7:32a I would like you to be free from concern
Rosa never expected her that she would secure a job in her dream company right after she graduated. Every morning she woke up early and left to work with such a happy heart. Unfortunately, those delightful feelings quickly came to an end. Her supervisor seemed to be so hard on her as all she got were complaints about her work. There was no day without a harsh reprimand. This made her anxious whenever she was apportioned any task as she worried she would make mistakes that might harm her career in that company. She was scared of getting fired, gradually her mind was flooded with negative thoughts. She thought if she were to be fired, no other company would hire her. The happiness that once filled her heart vanished.
Just like Rosa, there are many people getting too stressed as a result life pressures. If not nipped in the bud, they will lose happiness in their lives and be filled with anxiety. People get anxious about their children, spouse, finances, and sickness among others. Excessive anxiety makes us unproductive, and may even lead us to take the wrong decision. Excessive anxiety may also trigger depression and suicidal.
Anxiety and faith do not stand on the same level. Stop seeing what is only visible. Our circumstances may not change right away, we may still be indebted, still suffering from an illness or anything you may see or feel, let us fix our eyes on Jesus alone. When we take hold of God's promises, the peace of God will fill us. However great the pressure of life might be, we will not lose joy. The Holy Spirit will strengthen and enable us to go through it. Trust in God for he is able to turn things around, he is able to bring goodness out of the worst thing in life (Romans 8:28), and we will live a victorious life. REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, Anxiety steals your joy, so God does not want you to live in anxiety. APPLICATIONS 1. What are life pressures stressing you out now? What has your reaction been? 2.
