While still in the world, the Lord Jesus with His disciples traveled from city to city to teach and perform many miracles. However, when Jesus arrived at His birthplace, Nazareth, He did not do many miracles. Why? Isn't Nazareth his own hometown, shouldn't he care and do more miracles there than any other city?
However, in Matthew 13:58 we can find the reason why Jesus did not do many miracles there. It was because they did not believe in Him. The people in his village think that they know Jesus too well. That they know all the members of Jesus' family and the history of his family life. They only saw Jesus as the son of a simple and unworthy carpenter, so they did not have the thirst and hunger for the power of God that was in Jesus.
What about us, do we currently need miracles to happen in our lives? It may be a miracle in work, school, family, business, finance, or ministry. As a person who believes in Jesus, do we really believe in Him? Or are we still relying on our own strength, relying on our wealth, and relying on our position?
Our belief and trust in Jesus can be seen from how much the thirst and hunger of the power that we have. If we still rely on our own strength, repent immediately. Take the commitment to trust fully and totally in God. Fix our hearts and minds only upon God. Call unto Him day and night. Never give up. If there is no answer, call on Him louder. Till, we see God moving and filling us with the best miracle, the best way out, the best jobs, the best education, the family recovery, the best promotions, the best service. All that He has provided for us. REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, Without hunger in your spirit, nothing will happen. APPLICATIONS 1. What kind of miracle do you need right now? 2. How great is your hunger and thirst for God to do the miracle you need? And what do you do when you are experiencing thirst of God in the Spirit? 3. How can you increase the thirst and hunger in your spirit? TODAY'S PRAYER "Dear my good Father in heaven, thank you for the miracle you have prepared for me. From today onward, I will call unto you until I receive it from you what I need the most. In Jesus name, I pray, amen."
