How many of us have heard the quote "It takes seconds to fall in love, but ages to stay in love"? This quote is very true. It does not take great work to fall in love. In fact, when we fall in love, all the ugly ones seem beautiful. But the problem is, love can fade with time.
After the honeymoon is over, and problems start surfacing, will we still be able to love our partners the way they are? On the day you say "I do", you make a promise to stay faithful at all times, it is very easy for the couple to say, "... I will be faithful in joy and sorrow, in health and in pain, in riches and poverty..." But when we've been married for a decade or more, can we still make that promise? Yes, it takes a great deal of work to remain in love after going through a myriad of domestic problems.
Humanly speaking, it is impossible for us to work alone in solving the myriad of twists and turns of marriage. However, as children of God, do not forget the "privileges" we have. We have a Father, a place where we can pour out our heart. When you start to feel tired and the wine is running out in your marriage, come to Jesus! Seek Him, He will give you rest (Matt 11:28) and heal the wounds of your hearts (Psalm 147: 3). God will give us new wine, which will refresh our family life. He will fill our hearts with His abundant love so that we can love our spouse with God's unconditional love. A broken marriage relationship can be restored. Nothing is impossible for our God. REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, God is able to refill you with the wine of love again to overflowing only if you open your heart for Him. APPLICATIONS 1. Have you felt like giving up on your marriage? What problem made you feel that way? 2. Why do you need to come to Jesus? 3. How do you prepare your heart to come before God so as to restore your marriage? TODAY'S PRAYER "O Lord God, thank you for your Word that strengthens me always. I want to learn to commit all my life to you because there is nothing impossible for you and that AGAPE love will be able to restore my marriage. In Jesus name, I pray, Amen.
