Credit card is a cash replacement used to purchase almost anything. Credit card is also accepted in certain but many places. With it, we can shop without having cash at hand. In fact, there are a lot of lucrative discount offers when we use a credit card. However, if we can't control the use of it, we will not get the benefit, instead we'll be stuck in debt.
Ata was an employee of a company in her hometown. She had a bad shopping habit that made her to indebted. Every month, she couldn't pay off her credit card bill in full. Therefore her debt kept accumulating. She lived in fear of the debt collector who showed up in her house and even her office. In the midst of her frustration, a friend asked her out to join a prayer meeting. There she accepted Jesus as Lord and Saviour and from that moment on, she received strength to face her circumstances and always sought the help of the Holy Spirit. To an extent that through God's help, she could pay off her debt in full.
We may experience the same thing like Ata, not just in financial terms, but in a lingering sickness or pain or a marriage that is on the brink of divorce and so on. However, today we are again reminded that the Holy Spirit is in every one of us who believe in Him. When the Holy Spirit is present and fills our hearts, with all His might, He will make the impossible possible. In fact, He will revive the hope that has been dead, severe illnesses will be healed; accumulated debt will be paid off, broken household will be restored and so on. When our lives are filled with the Holy Spirit, we will receive new strength and hope. REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, When the Holy Spirit is present and fills your heart, He will revive even a dead faith. APPLICATIONS 1. What hope is in you that is seemingly dead at the moment? 2. Why do you need to be filled with the Holy Spirit? 3. What will you do to revive the hope that has been dead in you? TODAY'S PRAYER "Lord Jesus, thank you for sending the Holy Spirit to stay with and live in me always. By the power of the Holy Spirit, let every hope that has been dead in me receive life again. In Jesus name I pray, amen."
