We surely have all been in a bad place at some point in our lives. It might be in aspect of family relationship, finance, and even health. We might have cried out to God day and night, yet still there was no answer. We might go to church diligently, and even serve in the ministry, yet His helping hand seemed far away. At some point, we start to doubt and our faith is shaken. Disappointments try to steal the joy of our hearts. There is no more passion or desire when God's promises are being pronounced. However, in such difficult times, don't ever stop expecting the move of God and never stay away from Him.
We have a wonderful example in Daniel. Even in the face of looming danger that he would have to face for breaking the law that forbade anyone to pray to any god besides the king, Daniel kept his relationship with God intact and prayed three times a day. His intimacy with God made him have a firm faith. Even when he was threatened to be put in a lions' den, his faith was unshaken. In the end, by the favor of God, he escaped destruction (Dan. 6), and so did Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Their resolution to serve God and Him alone, made them have an unshakable faith despite the possibility of being thrown into the blazing furnace. They succeeded in winning the fight of faith (Dan. 3).
One thing we need to remember in our difficult times is that God has already provided the Holy Spirit as our helper. Let's make the Holy Spirit the center of our attention. We can devote an hour of our day to have a quiet time. We can also learn to commune with the Holy Spirit at all times every need and decision. There's a saying that "we can't love what we don't know." When we get to know more about Him personally, our hearts and faith will also be different. The longing to know His greatness and holiness will help us take the correct decisions. In the end, we will witness how great and miraculous His love and power is.
