There's a famous fairytale about a young man named Aladdin. One day, he found an old-magic lamp. If someone rubbed that lamp, a powerful genie would appear then he could grant anything people wished for. That time, Aladdin asked for wealth and it was certain that his life transformed, from poor man to rich man. This story reveals that many people's big passion is being rich in material. But it's different from Solomon. When the Lord appeared to him in a dream by night and asked what He should give to Solomon, he asked for Divine understanding instead of wealth (1 Kings 3:5-9). Solomon realized that wealth could make him get many things but we must remember all things in this world are temporary. They may disappear at once but not with wisdom, it's far more precious than wealth and nothing compares with it (Proverbs 3:13-15).
Actually, we need wisdom more than anything. With the help of Divine wisdom, we're able to take right decision when we face life's problems to solve. By wisdom also, we can build harmony in business, spiritual life, and family life. Yes, Divine wisdom is very important in the household. Make it as the only guidance in our family, whether in husband-wife or parents-children relationship.
Learn from the story of Solomon, we must have a deep passion to get Divine wisdom (Proverbs 2:4). When we ask for it with a true heart, God will give His wisdom for us. If you and your couple put God as the head of your household and have Divine wisdom also grow together in it, the family which you build will be blessed and live in harmony.
