"They know all about me," someone told the story about his struggle in saving his family. He was underestimated by his family, he was considered as too young, inexperienced, and clueless about life. If you read Mark 6, you will know that Jesus faced a similar problem. He was not honored in his hometown, in his country, and in his own house. Even his kin considered him as not in the right mind (Mark 3:21). However, in Acts 1:14 it was said that Jesus' brothers continued in prayer together with His disciples. Two of four Jesus' brothers named James and Judas were the writers of the book of James and the book of Jude.
Even though it was not written in the Bible, you can see that Jesus did not give up on saving His family. In His everyday life, He tried to get close to them and told them about the truth. Even if He carried a big mission, He never let His family be left out, He never forgot His role in the family as the family keeper.
You can learn from His perseverance. If you face a similar family problem, you must remember that only the Holy Spirit who can touch their hearts. You are only a messenger of salvation. It is important for you to keep praying and fasting. Use this 50-Day-of-Prayer-and-Fasting moment to keep asking God to soften their hearts and to save your family. Don't forget to ask God to keep you faithful with His calling. Through your prayer and fasting, God will pour down His power and save your family. So, not only you but also your family will experience a personal encounter with God and receive Him as God and Saviour.
