TODAY'S RHEMA Proverbs 20:20 If someone curses their father or mother, their lamp will be snuffed out in pitch darkness.
Some time ago, the Indonesian mass media was awash with a photo of a child suing his parents in court. Not just one case, some popular stories also emerged, all because of property and inheritance. This phenomenon reminds us of the proverb "a viper in (one's) bosom." Children who should reciprocate the love of their parents had become a curse instead. It is saddening, and an increasingly widespread reality on this earth. The love between child and parent is no longer unconditional. When parents are wealthy, their children respect and obey them but when parents are somewhat uneducated and poor, children tend to disregard and abandon.
As children of God, we must love our parents without condition but love them for who they are. Never curse at them, for that is what God commands.
Be assured that when we honor our parents, our Father in heaven is also pleased. When we please our parents, will they not bless us? Despite having weaknesses as humans, they still have the heart to bless us, let alone our Father in heaven who is perfect. He will provide and guide those who are subject to His will, and fulfill His promises, that is longevity, joy, and wellbeing in the land God has promised.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, If you know how to BLESS YOUR PARENTS, God will brighten YOUR FUTURE.
