TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL

Matthew 19:16-29

TODAY'S RHEMA
Matthew 19:29 "And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life"

David Livingstone was a missionary from Scotland. In 1941 he began his journey to Africa. His concern for horrible human trades that he witnessed there had shaped his decision for his life. He felt that he was called to contribute in a good way to solve this slavery issue, and since that time he had spent most of his lifetime in Africa. A few years later, he was convinced that the best way to erase slavery was to utilize the riverways in Africa, in order to facilitate ways for gospel to come in and for commercial trade to take place, which he hoped could replace human trading to become goods trading. He then started his long journey to explore Zambezi, to find Victoria Fall and Nyasa Lake, and to study a few countries that were interrelated in geography. Livingstone succeeded to fix the map of Africa which was not drawn correctly before. Other than that, he also wrote two best seller books about his journey that informed the world about the cruelty of African human slavery.

However, fame was not Livingstone's final dream. It was far more important for him to prove the truth of the bible by learning the heritage of African nations from the viewpoint of Christianity and Jewish cultures. He also tried to do all of his activities without compromising with crimes happening around him. 30 years in Africa did not make Livingstone forget his communion with in prayer every day, prayer was always a prime necessity for his daily conduct. The key to his success, in Livingstone's opinion, was his priority to put the Lord above all. He was successful in the world, in the ministry, and in God's work.

Every one of us, of course, wants to be blessed in many things, but many times we made wrong step in our lives. We tend to think that we could do things on our own. Without knowing, we ignored God in our lives. Double portion blessings only come when we involve and prioritize God in our lives, our job, our family, our study, and our ministry. Have faith in God that with Him we would success, both on earth and in heaven. Amen.
