TODAY'S RHEMA
Galatians 6:9 "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up"
There was a woman named Sue who had a serious health problem from the moment she was born. Turned out, there was a hole in her heart. Because of the condition, she always felt pain in her chest throughout her life. It made her undergo several surgeries. Her strength was drained more because she needed to give birth to her child and to do some treatment due to obesity problem. However, the hardship she was facing did not hinder her passion to participate in a marathon charity race that she longed to do in her lifetime. She told her husband and her friends about the idea and they were just shocked. They thought, "It must be impossible to be done by someone with a heart problem like her." But, because of her strong determination, she could convince them and eventually started to train by running very slowly around the neighborhood. Day by day, she made progress to run further and successfully added the distance to her route. Her achievement was increasing. She could run for 1 km, then 3 km, and finally 5 km. Soon when she felt ready, she registered herself for the run.
The race day came. Sue ran with some strategies: stopped periodically to do stretching and to drink water as much as she could, then started to run again only when she already gained her stamina back. The race was terribly held under the rainfalls which made it become more challenging. After some hours, one by one, the runners passed the finish line, but Sue was not there yet. When there were no more runners entering the finish line, Sue's family became worried and told her husband to search for Sue. When he found Sue a few kilometers from the finish line, she was actually cheering a group of friends who ran with her. Sue finally arrived at the finish line after five and half hours. However, the most important thing was that she could finish the run. Her purpose was achieved, regardless of her imperfect health condition. At the first time, Sue was only dreaming of doing the marathon, but her real action that she did could make her grasp her final dream.
We can arrive at our finish line too, just as Sue did. If right now we are still dreaming big breakthrough to take place in our lives, we have to realize that breakthrough will only happen if we dare to pay the price. Dare to sweat, dare to work hard, dare to sow and dare to become tired of doing it. Do the best in everything, as if we are doing them for God, then God will bless us and enable us to reach our dreams. Amen.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, THE KEY TO BREAKTHROUGH is KEEP PAYING THE PRICE until the end, even though no real results have been achieved.
