TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL
2 Kings 2:8-15
TODAY'S RHEMA 2 Kings 2:14 "He took the cloak that had fallen from Elijah and struck the water with it. "Where now is the LORD, the God of Elijah?" he asked. When he struck the water, it divided to the right and to the left, and he crossed over."
Through the story of Elisha, we could learn the best lesson about breakthrough. He had followed Elijah for years, not only as a servant but also as a disciple. He watched the life of his master day by day until the day Elijah was about to be taken up to heaven by the Lord. Before both crossing Jordan river, Elijah took his cloak, rolled it up and struck the water with it. The water divided to the right and the left and they crossed over on dry ground. Across the river, Elisha received a double portion of Elijah's spirit. Next, notice what he did. When he went back and stood on the bank of the river, he knew how to cross it. He took the cloak of Elijah that had fallen from him and did the same thing like Elijah did before. The water was divided again that he could cross over it. Since that moment, the Bible records that Elisha performed twice as many miracles as his predecessor, Elijah.
In the waiting period for breakthrough to come, how many of us who have been praying for years, reading and pondering the Word persistently, even you think you've paid the price but you haven't experienced it yet? Remember that the river of Jordan wasn't divided just by being stricken by Elisha. The miracle happened because Elisha put his faith in God that he had received the double portion of anointing to do more miracles.
Breakthrough doesn't happen in a blink of an eye. Without taking steps of faith, it would just become an idea; a dream that we are dreaming day and night. If you have received the anointing from God and haven't experienced any breakthrough in your life, there is possibility that you still doubt God. Today, push yourself to take a step of faith. Believe that God will always be with you. Let the anointing He has given to you to work in your life and see your life enter the sequence of breakthroughs.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, it is NOT ENOUGH just to receive anointing because breakthrough happens when we TAKE STEPS OF FAITH.
