Captain James Cook was a British explorer, navigator, cartographer, and captain in the Royal Navy. When he and had a voyage to explore the North Pole, Dr.Solander joined as their team. It was done in the winter. The cold-south wind and snow made the group trapped in snowstorm, not far from their camp. Dr. Solander gathered the group and said:"I've ever experienced this kind of situation in my country but I'm sure you haven't. Now, listen to my advice because your lives depend on it. We have to try hard to come back to our camp, without stopping because if you stop and sleep, that will be dangerous."
Then, the leader of the group asked: "How if we feel tired?" Solander answered:"Of course we will, but this is the chance to know what we're made up from. I warn you, when our blood is cold, we really want to take a rest but don't do it though it's just for a while. Give support to those who are tired, encourage them with a hit and use bayonet if necessary. Remember, the willing to stop is the first symptoms that blood circulation will stop. Giving up means death.
In any case, a big success needs a long process and hard effort. It's also applied to spiritual life. There must be hinder and difficulty and they oftentimes fail us to be the spiritual giants. However, we are fighting for reaching our everlasting home. Don't stop growing. Don't take a break though for a while. There's a time we feel tired but it's normal, moreover when the storm strikes our lives. Pray and ask the strength from God, keep getting close to Him. We have to prove what we're made up from. Keep moving forward with God. If we are faithful, we will be safe and continue growing to become the spiritual giants. REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, Don't be satisfied with the growth of your spiritual level now, keep CHALLENGE YOURSELF to reach THE HIGHER SPIRITUAL LEVEL APPLICATIONS 1. In your view, where is your spiritual level now? 2. Why do you need to challenge yourself to reach the higher spiritual level? 3. How do you challenge yourself? TODAY'S PRAYER "Kind Father, have mercy on me if I have been satisfied with my spiritual level right now. I forget that stop growing means death for my spiritual man. God, I'm willing to keep growing until I become a spiritual giant who can be useful for the Heavenly Kingdom. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen."
