TODAY'S RHEMA James 5:17 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months.
Randy liked to help his uncle solve puzzle since his childhood. When he turned 11, his uncle gave him a puzzle in the form of a castle from his favorite movie. That puzzle had 3 dimensions and consisted of approximately a thousand pieces. At first, Randy did it eagerly but after some time, he didn't make much progress with the puzzle building. The pieces were scattered everywhere and were nothing but a messy sight. He thought that puzzle could only be finished by his uncle. Eventually, Randy stopped trying and left it unattended to in his room corner.
How many of us act like Randy in our prayers? When our prayers seem unanswered, we despair. Oftentimes, the reality makes us frustrated. We think it's useless to pray and consider that God only grants certain people's prayer. Those people may be famous pastors or the characters in the Bible. However, the Bible writes that Elijah (a great prophet) who wrought great miracles was also just a man, like us.
What made Elijah different from us was the attitude of his heart. Though he had prayed many times in order to rain in the midst of the drought, he didn't give up. He wasn't satisfied when there was a cloud as small as a man's hand appeared from a distance. He kept praying wholeheartedly. With strong faith, he kept looking at big possibilities which God can do until the heavy rain fell. Believe, that our prayers are never in vain. The time we spend molding our lives in prayer, God uses to build our faith and hope. From day to day, our spiritual man is made perfect until we become the spiritual giant whom God used to establish His Kingdom and be a blessing to others.
