Julie and Rose were best of friends in their secondary school. After graduating, they separated because they had to continue their studies in different cities. As the time passed, they were busy with their own businesses and the new friends they met. Upon completing college, they got jobs and this made communication between them more difficult. Prior to this time, sharing stories about anything going on in their lives was a custom but now it was awkward just to say hello.
A close relationship will lose its worth if there's no effort to maintain it and so does our life prayer. Sometimes, we pray shortly and casually because of the hustle and bustle of life. Prayer may also become a routine activity without a desire to have an encounter with God. The more we rarely communicate with God in prayer, the more we feel awkward and difficult to be close with Him. Our prayers seem powerless and useless.
Truth is, an earnest prayer life is important for the growth of our faith. A prayer life which is taken seriously will light up our spirit within. Asides that, it gives strength and hope in distress, imparts joy needed to do the best for God at all times. Therefore, be faithful in prayer in every condition, whether in good times or bad. People who are faithful always put their hope in God, He will neither forget His promises nor His words. The faith of such people will get strengthened through every situation in life. The anointing of the Holy Spirit upon them makes God's guidance real in their every step. They can easily be used by God to do great things and become spiritual-faith giants in order to fulfill God's purpose in their lives. REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, The earnest prayer life will LIGHT UP YOUR SPIRIT in order to be used by GOD TO DO GREAT THINGS. APPLICATIONS 1. Do you have a special prayer time set aside for every day? Why? 2. Why is it very important to pray? What do you experience when you pray earnestly? 3. What things distract your prayer time? What will you do to overcome such? TODAY'S PRAYER "Jesus, thank You for opening a way to be close to You through prayers. Have mercy on me if sometimes I don't seriously respond to Your desire. I want to be more focused on You because I'm nothing without You. Encourage and guide me every step of my life. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen."
