TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL Ephesians 5:11-21 TODAY'S RHEMA Ephesians 5:15-16 Be very careful, then, how you live-not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.
Ever since their childhood, Rebeca and Rosemary dream of becoming a professional Ballet dancer when they grow up. They went to a Ballet school together. However, since their first day of school, there was obvious differences between both girls. Rosemary was quick in learning and dance beautifully and naturally. However, Rebeca was struggling in following her teacher instruction. Time went by. While Rosemary already successfully to be a beautiful dancer, Rebecca was left far behind her. Often times, she missed practices because she was distracted by things going on around her. She would choose to be with her friends watching movie than to practice. Rosemary was different, she never skipped practice and she took an extra effort by watching Ballet video and learn from it and to maintain her stamina by doing light physical practices.
One day, the ballet school was visited by a great dancer from the United States of America. The news quickly spread out that she was traveling around the world to search for new trainees to be taken to train with her. But, that dancer did not conduct a formal audition, she usually just sat at the corner of the room to see how the dancers practiced. All the dancers knew and they tried to show their best moves. So did Rebecca. But, in the end, that great dancer came to Rosemary and said, "Daughter, I am not searching for a talented dancer, but one who lives in ballet, and I can see that ballet is also alive in you."
In the same way, God also wants to see His children live in His words. Thereby, we also need to apply the same discipline in our daily conduct to seek Him. Do not forget or skip to read the words. Do not let our spiritual beings to sleep or to die inside of us. Learn to use the best times to seek Him. When the seeds of the words we receive become stronger plants in our hearts, then God can use us to become spiritual soldiers who can produce many fruits for His Kingdom's sake. REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih,A strong PERSONAL DISCIPLINE in reading the words of God will create a FIRM SPIRITUAL LIFE. APPLICATIONS 1. How does your personal discipline go in reading the word of God all these times? 2. Why do you need to discipline yourself in reading the words? 3. How can you start to be disciplined in reading the Word of God? TODAY'S PRAYER "Good Father God in Heaven, please forgive me, if during these times I do not have disciplines in reading Your words and in devoting times to seek You. Give me a new heart, o God, a heart to love You and Your words more and more. Give me bold desires in my heart, so I can develop my disciplines in reading Your words. In the Name of Lord Jesus, I pray. Amin."
