Favor For God's Soldiers Keluarga Allah Daily Devotional September 17, 2017
TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL Psalm 126:1-6
TODAY'S RHEMA Psalm 126:6 "The one who weeps as he walks along, carrying his bag of seed, will certainly come in with a shout of joy, carrying his sheaves of grain."
Yun is an evangelist from China who was born in 1958. Since he began his ministry, he was frequently arrested and put to jail. He has also suffered so many torments because of Jesus' name. However, his spirit in God never faded away. He even fasted for 74 days. He didn't eat or drink back then and was also tortured all along. He kept spreading the gospel to others prisoners and the prison wardens. As they could see how Yun was able to survive after finishing his 74 days fasting, they began to repent and a revival happened throughout the prison.
As His children, we often expect God to pour His favor upon our wishes and vision. We may say that we have given our whole dreams to God, but It can be seen through our way of living that we want everything to go as what we expect. We forget that we no longer own our lives. It is God who is supposed to rule our lives. We should let go our wishes and replace them with God's wishes. It is not our visions, but God's. It is not our way, but His. Just like Yun, even though he seemed to live in sufferings but we could see God's favor poured upon him abundantly. As God's army, his obedience and determination in faith didn't only become a fragrant offering, but also God's glory. This is the great honor for God's army.
Don't be afraid! No matter how difficult our missions are, He always grants equal and even greater favor upon us. Therefore, be a ready-to-use and ready-to sent Christian for God. Be a Christian who is ready to support His vision and help to advance His works. When we become God's good army, we will experience His miraculous favor. Jesus blesses you.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, You WILL NOT BE AT LOSS when you live as God's soldier; HIS FAVOR WILL BE powerfully GRANTED in all aspects of your life.
APPLICATION 1. Have you become God's soldiers? If you have, what difficulties which are you facing? If you haven't, what makes you hesitant? 2. Why should you not be afraid to be God's army? 3. How could you be a good God's army?
TODAY'S PRAYER "Father in the name of Jesus, teach me to be Your faithful army. I believe that Your favor is abundant in us. I hope, through my life, I can glorify Your name. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen."
